This fall, UNCG is launching a new online bachelor’s program for those with 24 or more transfer credits. It’s called the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Professional Studies, and it’s focused on developing relevant skills for the real world.
Research shows that employers are looking for a new kind of professional. It’s no longer enough to have depth in your area of expertise—you need the breadth to see and think from different perspectives. Developing this type of “T-Shaped Professional” is the foundation of the BIPS program.
Learn relevant, transferable skills
Six innovative courses make up the core of the BIPS program:
- Design Thinking
- Systems Thinking
- Understanding Data
- Contemporary Media Literacies
- Cross-Cultural Competence & Global Understanding
Although these courses are fully online, they are hands-on and interactive. You’ll collaborate with your classmates on real-world projects and case studies as you learn to solve problems creatively, analyze and interpret data, and adapt to changing environments.
Build deep knowledge in your area of interest
As you continue through the program, you’ll take additional courses in an industry focus area:
- Health and Wellness
- Arts, Entertainment, and Media
Once you have completed these courses, you will highlight your new skill set in a capstone project that tackles another real-world problem.
The convenience of online learning with the support you need
We know it’s not easy to finish your degree, so we want to make it as convenient as possible. That’s why all BIPS core courses are 7 weeks long and offered fully online. This gives you the flexibility to balance work and family obligations with your studies.
And although BIPS is an online degree-completion program, you won’t be doing this alone. You will partner with a success coach to chart a clear path to graduation. Your coach will serve as your academic advisor and check in with you throughout the program, connecting you with campus resources as needed.
