HowtoApplySo you’ve decided to apply to an online undergraduate degree completion program at UNCG, now what? There are different departments that need different documents, transcripts to find, school polices to understand, and even federal laws at play. Navigating through the application process can seem a bit daunting but do not fear, it’s actually quite easy. We’ve broken down the steps for you and don’t forget…there is always help when you need it.

Step 1: Before you apply

Decide when you want to start and check the deadlines

If you are applying to start in a Fall semester the application deadline for transfer students is July 15th. For Spring semesters it’s November 15th.  These dates are subject to change so always check UNCG Online

Consider your eligibility

All UNCG undergraduate online degree programs are degree completion. That means you must have at least 60 hours of college credit for admission. (If you don’t have 60 hours contact UNCG Admissions for help, see below)

Consider sending in your transcripts now

Sometimes it can take a while to get your transcripts sent to undergraduate admissions. We recommend getting started ASAP. And don’t worry, if your transcripts arrive ahead of schedule, UNCG will file them and wait for your completed application. In fact, if you want to do it now, here’s the address.

Be aware there are some costs

UNCG has a $55 nonrefundable application fee and some schools require payment to send your transcripts.

Step 2: The online application

Create a Spartan Link account to apply online

You will also get access to a personal web page tailored to your interests and emails will keep you up to date with UNCG events and important reminders.

Complete the online application

You must complete all areas of the application or it could delay the admissions process. Here is a quick checklist:

    1. Request that the registrar of each institution you have attended (including summer session or extension work) send an official transcript of your record directly to UNCG.
    2. Fill in your planned major. UNCG Online has a complete list of online undergraduate degrees.
    3. Submit $55 application fee
    4. Make sure you have completed the Community Standards Questions and NC residency portions of the application.
    5. Make sure your application is complete in full.
