Why You Should Consider a Certificate
Quickly develop the core skills you need to be a nurse educator without the commitment or cost of a master’s degree. A certificate provides an affordable option to develop skills to advance in the nursing field.

You can earn a certificate more quickly than a master’s, and you don’t have to take all of the classes at once. This certificate program requires 12 credit hours, taken fully online and over three semesters.

You can apply credits from this program to meet the requirements of a master’s degree later on, in accordance with the policies set by The Graduate School. Most of the courses you take for the certificate can be applied to the online Master of Science in Nursing Education.

About the Program
Students must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a 3.2 or higher GPA, as well as a nursing license.

Class sizes are small, and courses include the following:

  • Curriculum Design and Evaluation in Advanced Nursing Education (required)
  • Pedagogical Strategies for Advanced Nursing Education (required)
  • Theoretical Foundations for the Advanced Nurse Educator
  • Integrating Technology in Nursing Education

Perks of Online Learning
We know nurses have challenging schedules. Because the certificate program is designed for working professionals, the online format offers the flexibility to balance studies with work, family, and other commitments.

With this program, you can complete coursework at your own pace, whether after work or on weekends. And online learning can provide interaction like networking opportunities, accessibility to professors, and a chance to get to know classmates via online meetings and projects.

90 Percent Job Placement
With a job placement rate greater than 90 percent, the PBC in Nursing Education program helps you develop the skills you need for future positions in nursing education, and provides a pathway to future academic programs you may decide to pursue.
