It’s a new year and UNC Greensboro is rolling out a new program, the online PhD in Business Administration. Prepare for an academic career at a major university or college while gaining a broad overview of all areas of business.
Gain Specialized Research Skills
Designed to produce research-trained business faculty members, meeting a critical shortage in the field, the program helps students gain understanding in conceptual and empirical research methodologies.
Students develop specialized knowledge in the field to contribute to academic, government, or private sectors through research.
Courses focus on:
- strategic management
- academic writing and publishing
- organizational leadership
- organizational behavior
- international business theory
- and more
Students can customize the program by choosing a focus area in strategy, international business, or organizational leadership.
A One-of-a-Kind Program
This is the only online AACSB-accredited PhD in Business Administration delivered by a business school, and it is currently pending SACSCOC program accreditation approval.
Dr. Moses Acquaah, head of the Bryan School of Business and Economics Department of Management, says the program is unique and innovative because it is designed to meet the needs of at least two groups: faculty members in business schools who do not have a PhD but are interested in a research-based doctoral degree, and individuals in government or industry who want to transition to academia and enroll in a research-based doctoral degree.
“These two groups are usually constrained by time and place and cannot pursue a PhD through the traditional route,” he says. “This program provides an opportunity for them to achieve their dreams.”
Both UNCG and the Bryan School are backed by solid rankings. The Bryan School is among 1% of business schools worldwide with dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting. And UNCG is recognized as a Top 10 Best Online College.
