Dr. Amanda Durall never imagined that she would complete her doctorate in the backseat of her minivan in the middle of a pandemic.
Doctoral students find new ways to make a difference in this innovative online program.
Mandy Northcutt was a group exercise coordinator and certified personal trainer before deciding to pursue higher education as a career.
“I’ve always enjoyed working with other individuals and teaching them about human movement or different exercises,” she says.
EdD program helps assistant professor foster relationships with other wellness professionals.
Graduate uses skills learned in online EdD program to train and develop faculty.
David Kyle’s number one goal as director of the Ability Sport Network is to help people with disabilities to be more physically active.
“That is the absolute main goal of the program,” he says. “People with disabilities just don’t get enough exercise.”
Jené Baclawski began playing soccer at 4 years old. While coaches motivated her, practices of her youth were filled with isolated skills training, drills, and 2-mile runs.
Now 42, Baclawski is a coach educator enrolled in UNC Greensboro’s online Doctor of Education in Kinesiology (EdD in KIN).
