UNCG TEDx Event Features Online Alumni

April 02, 2019 by Karen Grossman |

TEDxUNCGreensboro is much like TED Talks you may have heard, but features speakers with a UNC Greensboro connection. Nine speakers who are faculty, current students, or alumni will participate in the event on Friday, April 12, 5-8 p.m. at the Weatherspoon Art Museum.

The independently organized event features speakers who make an impact and inspire others in their community, and encourages discussions and connections that matter to the UNCG community.

If you’re an online student, this is a great way to hear from alumnae of UNCG online programs. Speakers include:

  • Tiera Moore — She received an online M.A. in Applied Arts & Sciences with a concentration in Global Studies from UNCG and lectures in UNCG’s African American & African Diaspora Studies Program and the Lloyd International Honors College. She conducted ethnographic research on Nigerian women during her studies.
  • Noor Ghazi — She received an online B.A. in Liberal Studies from UNCG and is currently in the M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies program. Her research focuses on refugees, war displacement, and immigrants.
