Understanding your options to pay for college can be a little confusing. Financial aid is available, but what exactly is it and what do you need to do to get started?
Learn More About Types of Aid in the Video Below
Simply put, financial aid is any funding that helps offset the cost of tuition, such as scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs.
Some financial aid is awarded based on achievement, like scholarships, while other aid is awarded based on need, like grants. And while those types of aid don’t need to be repaid, loans do.
Online students at UNC Greensboro are eligible for financial aid.
It’s important to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to determine your eligibility for any type of financial aid. By filling out the form, you’ll also automatically be considered for any need-based aid available at your school of choice as well as state aid, and no other applications are necessary.
